Start in Marrakech, head south
Pick-up is at Marrakech-Menara airport, where the car is waiting, prepared and checked. From there you cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n’Tichka pass, one of Morocco’s most famous mountain roads, before descending towards the pre-Saharan valleys. The car stays with you for the whole tour and goes back to the agreed point during agency opening hours. The fleet is run by our Casablanca agency in Maarif.
Kasbahs, film studios and valleys
Ouarzazate is known as the gateway to the desert. Nearby, the ksar of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has appeared in many films. In town, the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas film studios recall Ouarzazate’s place in cinema history. Further on, the Draa and Dades valleys are an invitation to extend the journey.

A day of kasbahs and film studios
Ouarzazate is best explored as a short day loop. In the morning, visit the Taourirt Kasbah, a former Glaoui residence right in the town centre, with its decorated rooms and rammed-earth terraces. Carry on to the Atlas Studios, where many films and series have been shot and whose sets are open to visitors.
Keep the afternoon for the ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site: cross the riverbed, then climb to the fortified granary above the village as the low light warms the mud walls. In the evening, a large SUV such as the Range Rover Sport keeps everyone cool and comfortable on the way back.
