The historic heart of Morocco
Fes and Meknes are two of Morocco's four imperial cities, and the ancient site of Volubilis lies close by. Combining all three in a few days is one of the richest cultural routes in the country, and one of the easiest to do by car: distances are short and roads are good. With a comfortable car you enjoy every stop without depending on a bus timetable or a taxi.
Collecting your car at Fes airport
Several models in our fleet can be collected at Fes airport, as well as at the Casablanca agency (Maarif) and the other airports in the network. Returns take place during the agency's opening hours. All cars are automatic, with unlimited mileage, rented without a driver (a driver can be offered on request, subject to availability), with a minimum rental of 3 days and a deposit of 30000 MAD.

Fes, the ancient medina
The medina of Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the largest car-free urban areas in the world. You enter on foot: leave the car in a car park at one of the gates and spend at least a day among the alleys, madrasas and tanneries. In the evening, a spacious SUV such as the Range Rover Sport or the Audi Q8 takes you back to your accommodation in complete ease.
Meknes, the city of Moulay Ismail
Meknes lies about 60 km from Fes, linked by motorway. Also listed by UNESCO, the city is famous for the Bab Mansour gate and for the great complexes built under Sultan Moulay Ismail. It is a quieter stop than Fes, ideal for half a day or a full day.
Volubilis and Moulay Idriss Zerhoun
About 30 km north of Meknes, Volubilis is the best-preserved Roman site in Morocco and is also a World Heritage site. Its mosaics and triumphal arch are visited on foot, in the open air: come early in the morning or late in the afternoon in summer. Nearby, the small holy town of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun clings to the hillside. The road crosses olive-covered hills; a Porsche Macan or a Maserati Levante is particularly pleasant here.
A typical three-to-four-day loop
- Day 1: arrive at Fes airport, collect the car, first evening in Fes.
- Day 2: explore the Fes medina.
- Day 3: Meknes, then Volubilis and Moulay Idriss Zerhoun.
- Day 4: back to Fes and return the car.
