Al Hoceima, the Mediterranean on the Rif side

Set between the Mediterranean Sea and the Rif mountains, Al Hoceima has one of the most beautiful bays on Morocco's northern coast. What to do in Al Hoceima by car

In town, Quemado beach and the seafront are a short walk from the centre. But the car above all opens up the coves and beaches nearby, along an indented coastline where every bend reveals a sea view. Al Hoceima National Park, which protects part of the coast and hinterland, is ideal for walks and viewpoints. For the curious, inland roads lead to the villages and landscapes of the Rif.

Driving on the Rif coast

Roads in the region are often winding and hilly. An agile, comfortable sedan like the CLA 220 Pack AMG is perfectly at ease there, but take your time, especially in the mountains. In high summer, traffic picks up in town and near the beaches: set off early in the morning to park easily and enjoy the cooler hours.
