Stage 1: Agadir

After collecting the car at the airport, take time to discover Agadir: the long beach, the seafront promenade, the marina and the hill of the old kasbah, with a view over the whole bay. It is a comfortable base for the first night.

Stage 2: Taghazout

About twenty kilometres north of Agadir, Taghazout is one of Morocco's best-known surf villages. The road runs along the ocean past several beaches and viewpoints. Even if you do not surf, the village atmosphere and the sunsets are worth the stop.

Stage 3: on to Essaouira

From Taghazout to Essaouira, allow about 160 km on the coastal road, which alternates stretches by the water with crossings of the hinterland among argan trees. Plan for about three hours, taking time to stop. Essaouira, the former Mogador, welcomes you with its ramparts, fishing port and medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
