The Trophée Hassan II, a historic event

Golf holds a special place in Morocco, and the Trophée Hassan II is its showcase. Founded at the initiative of King Hassan II, whose name it bears, the tournament is played at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat, a course designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1971. It left Rabat for Agadir for a few years before returning.

Today the Trophée Hassan II is a stop on the PGA Tour Champions. It is played at the same time as the Lalla Meryem Cup, a Ladies European Tour event, so for one week Rabat hosts two international tournaments. The 2026 edition took place from 18 to 24 May. Dates for the next edition are published by the organisers on the tournament's official website.

A golfing country

Beyond the Trophée, Morocco attracts golfers thanks to its mild climate for much of the year and to courses spread across several regions, notably around Rabat, Marrakech and Agadir. Many enthusiasts combine several courses in one trip, and that is where a car becomes essential, to carry golf bags and move freely from one city to another.

Driving to Rabat

Rabat is about 90 km from Casablanca by motorway. Several cars in our fleet can be collected at the Casablanca agency (Maarif) or at Casablanca Mohammed V and Rabat airports, so you can head straight to the course. During tournament week, traffic may be heavier around the venue: allow extra time and check the access information published by the organisers.
